MASS ASCENSION |
Pamela Dunmire contemporary artist is well known for her vibrant and textural Acrylic Abstracts.
Now Pamela has ventured into whimsical story
telling through her paintings.
After returning from the Albuquerque Balloon Fiesta, colors and patterns
swirled in her subconscious until she spilled them on canvas. She has produced a fun collection of
balloon art that is debuting at A Small Art Gallery starting January 1, 2014.
Pamela tells the story of excitement, soaring, ascension,
and rough landings. She tells you
to “Just Hang On” when life soars out of control. She gives you a bird’s eye view when you are “Above The
Crowd”. She gives you a clear
vision of how colorful life can be if you just let go and soar.
Working nearly 20 years as a social worker with strenuous
restrictions and heart rendering cases in Child Protective Services, the
gravitational pull to escape the confines of broken spirits consistently
delivered Pamela into the world of fine art.
Painting became her balance during her years as a social
worker saving her from complete burnout.
It was the Yin to her Yang.
She used art to take those feelings of sorrow and distress and turn them
into something beautiful.
Pamela knows the ‘Ups’ and ‘Downs’ of life in her own
personal experiences having known the anguish of living with an alcoholic,
divorce and most recently successfully battling a bout with cancer. It is no wonder she picked the analogy
of Hot Air Balloons to share the joy of successfully meeting the challenges of
life.
Much of Pamela’s art reflects the soaring of the soul. “I have always been a person who feels that each and everyone has inner strength that can be tapped during times of turmoil and crisis.”
A truly contemporary artist, her images explore how art and
life reflect each other, and serve as a creation to celebrate and enhance ones
life.
Pamela will be taking her New Collection of Hot Air Balloons to the 2014 Licensing Expo at Mandalay Bay, Las Vegas. The Expo is running from June 17th-19th. See all of her designs and collection in the Art & Design Section, Booth G24.
