#12 ONE HUNDRED DAY CHALLENGE...... Don't Quit..........

HOT SUMMER DAYS 8" X 8"
www.pameladunmirefineart.com

Challenging myself isn't easy....... I have gone off track a couple of times, and life has gotten in the way.  Lets see I should be at about #20...... It doesn't matter, what matters is that I haven't quit.

Life has done it's best to distract me.  Throwing in a few life challenges of it's own.  Over commitments, family concerns, and exhaustion at times.  The important thing is to stay focused on your goal.  Keep painting my WHY, and honing my skills, building my body of work and staying true to the dream.

Some of the ways I do this is to surround myself with positive and life affirming practices.  Meditation and prayer twice  a day.  Exercise, and eating well.  Gratitude for everything, even the things I don't much want.  Looking for the good in everything and everyone and tuning into the positive energy of others.  Most important good sound sleep.

This sounds like a long list but it is made up of small steps that lead to large accomplishments....

 My motto today.....DON'T QUIT....

OPENING THE PATH TO CREATIVENESS....... allow yourself to just do.

ABSTRACT STUDY-REFLECTIONS    6 1/2" X 5 "
www.pameladunmirefineart.com
I am going into the second week of my 100 Day Challenge to increase my productivity within the studio.  I am starting to see the magic in this experiment........

It's discipline that I sometimes lack, and with self-talk, and self-challenges I am moving into a more productive state of being.  I found that when I publicly challenged myself to paint a small painting everyday for 100 days that I couldn't back down.  It meant that my EGO stepped up......  I certainly wouldn't want  to look like a failure.......

I am beginning to see the true outcome of this challenge to be something entirely different.  When I put on my iTunes, settle into my studio, and pick up my brush  it becomes much more than putting paint to paper.  It is a time of reflection.......

It goes right to the heart of my being.......my creativity......my intuitive self.  I settle into who I am, the "WHY" of my painting and I intuitively create something beautiful.  It is soooo simple, I don't need to over analyse my canvas.... Just do.....I HAVE ALLOWED MYSELF TO JUST DO.

The other thing I am discovering is if I wait for inspiration......I may never pick up that brush.......  Since this is my financial security I am talking about.... that would be a disaster.  I need to produce work and lots of it.  I need to open the paths to MY creativeness.  The best way to do that is challenge myself to paint everyday.  I HAVE ALLOWED MYSELF TO JUST DO.

At first I thought that my 100 Day Challenge was a crazy idea, one that would surely fail...... Not now. The things I am learning about myself during this challenge will only lead to success.... I HAVE ALLOWED MYSELF TO JUST DO.

How have you opened your paths to creativeness?  What has been your challenge to yourself?  It is time to ALLOW YOURSELF TO JUST DO.

PLAYING WITH COLOR AND DESIGN....a 100 Day Challenge

Abstract Study #3 6"T  X  51/2"W
available at
www.pameladunmirefineart.com

I always like to challenge myself......and lately I have be feeling very abstracted...... Late summer is always a slow time for me so I am able to play little more in the studio.  This is a great time to mess around with color, pattern and design.  My Itsy Bitsy Abstracts are a perfect venue to play with color and design on a small scale, to see if they would translate into a larger format.

I want to do a whole series of these during my 100 day challenge. A 100 Days will carry me into Fall and the Open Studio Tour but working an hour a day designing an abstract study is doable.

Abstracts are not that easy to get right.  I always feel a non-objective painting is hardest still because you can't catch the viewers eye with subject matter.  It is purely design and color driven.  I have always been drawn (pun) to a good non-objective abstract and I would be grateful to achieve a few really  good studies that I could than translate to a larger scale.

I will be posting more of these Itsy Bitsy Abstracts.  I would appreciate your feedback.... Tell me what you like or dislike about non-objective art...

If you see something of mine that you think I should blow-up..... HA HA.... please designate if you mean destroy or just make larger; give a shout out.  I will be posting these each day on my Face Book Page.

Hey, you artists out there..... I challenge you too!   Let's see what you come up with, and I will put my favorites of your abstracts on my Page.

MONSOONS ARE AMAZING.......bringing life to the desert

MONSOON SUNSET 14"T X 11"W
www.pameladunmirefineart.com
I have lived in the Southwest long enough to know that liquor is made for drinking and water is made for fighting over.  With a seven year long drought in these here parts it is getting pretty dang dry........

All I can say is BRING ON THE RAIN!!!!!!!

I hold my breath every year when the spring winds blow and the heat rises, drying out the forest and parching the plants.  My trees begin to look like sticks with barely any life.  They brown up and drop leaves to preserve their energy.  This is forest fire time.  I think back to last year when we had two major fires in our area, and we lost our 19 hotshots in the Yarnell Hill fire... and I lament "Lord when does the rain start."

The month of July has brought us the blessed relief we have all been praying for, with the arrival of the Monsoons.  We have gotten about 4 1/2" at our house in the mountains north of Phoenix, double what is normal for this season.  That makes this a great monsoon so far with another month to go.

I feel the moisture coming back to the blush of my skin, my hair is full and soft; my eyes twinkle. My whole body drinks in the succulent drops of luscious nectar that falls from the sky. A joyful spring is in my step as I dance through puddles, and the 4 year old comes spilling out of me.

This is a MONSOON.

The skies crack open with the sound of thunder, dark clouds descend toward the ground as white tops billow above.  The wind picks up and swirls the dusty leaves, whirlwinds scour the desert floor and walls of dust form haboobs as high as a 747.

This is a MONSOON.

Billowy clouds turning crimson and gold as the sun sinks deep; glinting against the steel and glass of the high rise.  Phoenix at cocktail time.

This is a MONSOON.

MONSOONS ARE AMAZING.........

VISUALIZING MY SECRET GARDEN......

BACKYARD GARDEN  24"T X 36"W
available at
www.pameladunmirefineart.com
Living in the South Western United States, I miss the green and lush backyard gardens of the Eastern part of our country.  Don't get me wrong my backyard is beautiful, though rocky and rugged with more lichen than flowers growing.  After the monsoons is our season of flowers with beautiful blue wildflowers springing up between the rocks and mesquite plants.  They are small but profuse like a blue carpet. But I do miss the lush big blooms of the perennials I use to  plant in my backyard in Michigan.

Visualization is a great tool to use when you are in a slump or as I call it (my summer snit; when it is hot and dry and dull brown) and I want to move to a more beautiful GREEN place. As an artist I like to take my visualization and turn it into a more permanent visual picture.

So my creativity takes over to bring the rich color of a hidden garden, smack dab in the middle of the South West.  You will find many of my newest paintings with this theme; eye popping color and gigantic flowers as I visualize what I wish I had.........   Growing flowers like these would definitely bring the Javalina..... they would make a tasty treat for those pesky critters.  So I must only dream.....

PAMELA PONDERS.........What if YOU take a peek?

PEEK A BOO 6" X 6"
www.pameladunmirefineart.com

Some times artists are timid to show their talents to the world.  Though they could shine brightly the fear of failure forces them to hide away where they perceive safety.  Their thoughts keep creativity hidden, afraid to take that first step.....  they become invisible.

Pamela Ponders........

One should never come from the side of fear, but come from resiliency, if you fail....no big deal.  Any successful person will tell you that they failed many times before they became who they are today.

Like the marigolds peaking from behind the grasses, let your colors shine.  Let your creativity pollinate and spread across the land.... Create the thought, step into the action and expect to win.

You don't have to be an artist to let your colors shine....................

NEW MINI PAINTING......a Totemic gift.

TOTEMIC  6" x 6"
www.pameladunmirefineart.com
Have you ever heard of Totemic?  It is a system of belief in which each human is thought to have a spiritual connection or a kinship with another physical being, such as an animal or plant, often called a "spirit-being" or "totem."

I have come to believe that we are all connected by an energy source that permeates us all.  We are one with all, a direct link to God.......  A totemic connection to everyone and everything.

I believe that is why I have gravitated to paint the world of nature in my own abstract way.  It is my connectedness with the world.  It is my way of spreading God's beauty and spirit to the observer.  My gift to the world using the gift that God shared with me.

This is a small gift to the world but totally heartfelt as all of my designs are.......

If this touches someones spirit, all is good, and I have connected with another soul, I have done what I was meant to do.....bring joy into this world.

PAINTING WITH A CHILD'S HEART........ letting the wildness out.

WILDNESS 40"T X 30"W
www.pameladunmirefineart.com
Now this is color......... wild abandoned color........ This piece was started as a demonstration project for a workshop I was conducting in February.  I was thinking red at the time because it was near Valentines Day.  I started the piece as usual, very intuitively, just throwing on color mostly reds, yellows and oranges.  My students that day were having trouble loosening up so I was showing them it was OK to be WILD, SPONTANEOUS, and full of abandon.

Finally I said "Grab a color from your pallet, come up here and throw it on this painting".  One by one they came forward; timid at first making small marks. Than I asked them to do it again.  I made the first bold gesture and encouraged them that it would not ruin the painting.  Once again they each stepped forward and with a bit more gusto they added their mark.  Finally on the third try large swatches of color began to appear. Laughter, dancing and childlike play followed.  Each student had made their bold and beautiful mark.

The painting began to come alive.  We set the piece aside and all day long students would spontaneously add to the mix of marks. Their 4 year old child was stepping up to that easel, and mischievously adding their personality.

I took it home and several days later I refined some of the movement, corrected some of the colors and let it take shape as this magical wild garden.  I still see much of the brush and finger strokes that the class had added.  Although 80% of the painting is definitely my hand, 20% reminds me of the wild abandon and joyful, childlike students that made their marks.  By the end of the workshop each one of them had created inspiring work and had found their child within.

This piece is now hanging at the Mountain Artist's Gallery for their ADVENTURES IN ART, exhibition in the Main Gallery.  Starting today July 2nd. and running through September 27th.  Stop by and see this beautiful piece.    It was a true ADVENTURE to paint.

REMEMBERING THE GRANITE MOUNTAIN 19........ my way........

The Fallen Rise 10"X10" Fine Art Print.
Today is the one year anniversary of the tragic Yarnell Hill Fire and the loss of the 19 Granite Mountain Hot Shots.   Prescott, AZ is having several memorial remembrances today and this weekend.

A good friend of mine lost a brother-in-law during this tragedy, he was one of the 19 brave hot shots that walked toward the fire that fateful day. His family have chosen not to be in Prescott during the remembrances, they are trying successfully to move past this tragedy and put their lives back together.  Many of the families feel the same way.

Although the community feels this is needed to honor their brave heroes, many of the families just want to get on with life. Each new memorial that springs up continues to remind them of the past and how much they miss their loved one.  It is hardest for the children.

So with heavy heart, I want so much to honor these brave men; I also want to honor the wishes of the families so I will not be attending any of the memorial services accept for the short moment of remembrance we had at church yesterday and my silent prayer uttered for the families today.

During my own feelings of grief and sorrow through the memorials of last year my cathartic response was to paint the above piece. I donated the original to the Memorial Museum that will one day be built. Meanwhile I produced fine art prints that I sold and donated part of the sales to the Yarnell Hill Fire Fund through the Presbyterian Church.  I now have decided to donate funds to the 100 Club for their continuing efforts to help all police officers, fire fighters and first responders.  If you are interested in helping with this project just respond with a comment..... 10"X 10" signed fine art prints are only $25.00 plus Shipping and Handling.

The purple orbs represent the 19 souls of the Granite Mountain Hot Shots.  Purple was the color of their station emblem and I remember all of the beautiful purple balloons that were released as I stood on SR 89 entering Prescott as they brought our heroes home.

It is my small way of helping out all families of first responders.

TAKING A LEAP OF FAITH.....Exhibiting at the 2014 Licensing Expo

2014 LICENSING EXPO AT MANDALAY BAY CONVENTION CENTER, LAS VEGAS
A couple of years ago I had a dream.....to step into the world of Art Licensing. As my thoughts and manifestations took hold, a person came into my life with the same vision.  Mary Esneault, a beautiful artist, and dear friend also wanted to become an art licensor.

Both of us had followed Tara Reed, and Maria Brophy on their blogs to begin to learn the in and outs of the trade.  We decided in June of 2013 to walk the Licensing Expo, and to attend LIMA a Licensing University held during the Expo.  We learned a lot, but also realized that this would be a leap of faith and a lot of hard work over the next year in order to become an exhibitor at the Expo.

On November 7, 2013 I received an email from Kelly Couchee, from Advanstar, the company that puts on the trade show.

"Hi Pamela-

Your paintings are beautiful!
I wanted to get in touch and invite you to exhibit in the 2014 Licensing Expo, June 17-19, in the Mandalay Bay, Las Vegas.
With so many of your peers and competitors on the show floor, I invite you to join us as an exhibitor in 2014! Your vibrant work will really resonate with our attendee base and buyers in publishing, gifts, toys, house & garden, apparel..."

Well you get the picture.....I was flattered and hooked.

Mary was equally intrigued and we decided to deposit our monies and join forces as "Dunmire Esneault Contemporary Designs".

We worked extremely hard the next several months designing collections, painting and photographing our images.  We worked with a great graphic designer Cathy Gibbons to design our beautiful and very classy banners for our booth.  We spent a lot of time, money and energy toward this project.  We ate, worked and slept the Licensing Expo.

We booked our rooms at the Luxor, invited our husbands along.....they became our "GO FORS". Thank you Tom and Jim.  We headed for Sin City, to gamble on our future as Licensing artists.
Dunmire Esneault Contemporary Designs Booth G24
It was one of the most life affirming actions I have taken in my long art career.  It has set me on a path of greatness.  Several large corporation reps, and Directors of Design came by our booth.  We met people from all over the United States and the World.  There are months ahead of daunting work to reign in the contracts.....but it will happen.  Mary and I both stepped away from this Expo very pleased and exhilarated.

Next Step.....possibly Surtex the largest Art and Design Expo. It is at the Jacob Javits Convention Center in New York City May 17-19, 2015.  Penny Sikalis, Vice President of Surtex stopped by our booth and invited us to exhibit.

Yes, those smiles are genuine!!!!!!!! We are heading places.

CREATING AN INTERESTING PAINTING......The creative process of an artist.

First Rendition of a painting

Second Rendition
Notice I took out the tree on the left and added the wild flowers, I am definitely liking it better.

I thought I would walk you through the thought process of creating a painting.

I began with the creative feel of bright blues and oranges, a lake and the feeling of fall.

Two trees with blue trunks, stood guard over a lake. But soon the image became monotonous. Though I liked the colors the trees felt to repetitive and not spontaneous.

In the second rendition I took out the tree on the left and added some big spontaneous wildflowers, and lightened up the hills in the background.  The lake was feeling more like a river, but it still felt contrived and over worked for my liking.   I was stuck.....all though there were many LIKES from my facebook audience....... I was troubled by the whole piece.

Final rendition
RIVER BANK
30" X 30"
I slept on it.... waking up in the middle of the night with the answer.   If it was going to be a river, It would be a Western River the "Colorado.  No gently rolling hills but rugged Mesas that were spontaneously worked into the painting with a pallet knife.  I keep a hint of the under painting so some of the green and orange showed through.  I took out the last remaining tree and added a fifth wildflower.  Odd number objects always make a better composition.  I added more prominent red grasses. The lower boarder I change to a purple instead of the red.

Now the painting feels more spontaneous, although it didn't happen spontaneous.  It has a much better composition and the color pallet is vivid and exciting.   I like it!!!!!  It will become one of my new paintings in my 2014 Floral Collection.

Three full days of work......... and I am satisfied.

REACHING....... finding Abundance and Joy.

REACHING
36" X 36"
ACRYLIC ON CANVAS
WAITING FOR IT'S NEW HOME
http://www.pameladunmirefineart.com
As an artist I am constantly reinventing myself with each painting, creating something anew......Experimenting with a new color or stroke or technique.   Always Reaching and finding a new way to express myself.

As I grow in my own life and find the joy and abundance that I envision, my art becomes more abundant and joyful.  I have transformed my color pallet, and expressive voice.

I bumped into a gallery owner that I showed with five years ago.  He could not believe how much my paintings have changed.  He always felt I was dark and moody very soulful and spiritual in my paintings.  Now my joy and abundance of life is just spilling out of my pallet.

Why such a change?  Meditation, visualization, conquering cancer, positive affirmations, all these empowering daily habits have made me more creative.  I have found my WHY in life.  I have discovered why I paint.  I always thought I knew, after all it is what an artist does.  But I have discovered that I need to share the joy that life can bring to everyone.

I have discovered that everyday must be filled with art, my own and others.

I am my happiest when I am at the canvas, or teaching others to express their own Whys.

One on ones in my studio are pure Magic........  Teacher to student....... expressing the moment.

KEEP REACHING.......

MICRO PAINTINGS.......a new way to market.

HIGH TIDE
8" X 10"
ACRYLIC ON GALLERY WRAP CANVAS
http://www.pameladunmirefineart.com
I just returned from a week long trip to the Central Coast of California.  One of my goals was to spend some time in reflection and vision.  Creating new ideas and creative energy.  One of the best ways I find to do this is to be by the sea.  I came back refreshed and ready to try new things.

One of the conundrums that an artist faces is how to price their work so that many people can enjoy their art.  So I decided to create a Micro series of very small painting 8" x 10" and smaller in a price range for beginning collectors, $100.00 or less.

Then I created a way to market and sell these lovelies.  I have picked two days per week to highlight these offerings on Facebook, Twitter, and Pintrest.  Saturday will continue to be my SATURDAY SPECIAL OFFERING, where I sell micro paintings and prints at a reduced rate.  A new offering will be published on Thursdays which I am calling THROW OUT A PRICE THURSDAY.  This will be an opportunity for my peeps on Facebook and Twitter to make me an offer and tell me why they value a certain painting at the price they are offering.

I believe both of these promotions will give the art lover an opening into art buying by removing the price barrier.  Make impulse buying fun and worth while, and leverage my and the collectors generousity.

A win win for all involved..........

SKY MESAS.....Looking to meditation.

SKY MESAS
ACRYLIC ON GALLERY WRAP CANVAS
16"T X 20"W
$400.00
www.pameladunmirefineart.com
Following on the heels of yesterdays blog, here is another painting in my Southwestern Landscape Collection.  It is another favorite, it feels like I am floating through the sky looking down on Mother Earth..... MEDITATING.

I love the metallic coppers of the Mesas and the vivid blues together.  So much like the skies in the Southwest.  Have you ever noticed how beautiful a sky is in the West?  The clear blue, there is nothing like it.....  To an artist these are the  greatest skies to paint.

This is what meditation is all about.......floating.......looking down on yourself, merging with your self......finding the truth in yourself.  I use this painting sometimes as a trigger to help me calm my mind as I go into an Alpha state.  That is the state of being that is true relaxation, as relaxed as you can possibly get.  I try to meditate each morning before I do anything else.  It sets my attitude for the day.....it brings that positive spin into my life....it helps me move forward....it helps me find my BIGNESS........

Meditation is one of those tools that I use to ground myself.  It is just as important as exercise, diet, enough sleep, and having fun.........  It helps me get my head around any issues I have.......it gives me confidence.

If you haven't tried meditation it is worth a look at, just find a quiet space settle your mind and go deep within yourself, it may be surprising what you find.

TAOS....... A new direction......finding your MUSE.

TAOS
16" X 16"
ACRYLIC ON CANVAS
$320.00
http://www.pameladunmirefineart.com
I am showing off one of my smaller paintings which happens to be a favorite.  This was one of those turning point pieces that started me in a new direction.  As artists we all have moments like that when we are in our FLOW and we take off in another direction.  It was the beginning of a large series of Southwestern paintings that have sold very well.

This piece is still hanging around the studio, I think because I have not by intention let go of it. I think it is time to let it leave and find a new home.   So I am putting it out to the world that this little baby is ready to hang in a loving home with a new family......

Sometimes these painting become like our children.... it is hard to say good bye.  Many artists feel this way, that we have created and given birth to an idea, made it visual so that others can have a new way of looking at the world.

I am feeling strong and confident that someone will come along who loves Taos, New Mexico and fall in love with my interpretation of it.....  See Taos the way I see it........ Love Taos the way I love it.........

If I wasn't living in Prescott, which I dearly love, my next favorite place would be the Taos area.  I have a huge fascination with Northern New Mexico.  It has such great artistic energy, it brings out my BIGNESS, and my JOY.

Northern New Mexico is were I had my Artistic Epiphany 20 years ago.  It is were my MUSE was born. I go back often to rekindle that love and to find my creative center.......it is part of my vision of GREATNESS.

Have a great day and find your own MUSE!!!!!

BEGINING IN A STATE OF FLOW..... Finding HAPPINESS and VISION

GOD'S BREATH
18" T x 15"W
SIGNED FINE ART PRINT
$125.00
I have been learning all sorts of new and exciting things as I travel my journey to GREATNESS.  One is being in a state of FLOW.  It is a mind set that brings together two important balances. (1) Be Happy in the NOW, and (2) Have a strong vision of your future.

The whole idea is you must have goals..... but your happiness should not be tied to them.  You must be happy all the time not just when you reach your goal or GREATNESS.  Happiness is the Journey!!!!

I am most happy when I am doing......painting in the studio......creating something new.  I have always called that "Being In My Flow".   Now I have added my vision....of being the BIGGEST and BEST artist I can possibly be.

When I painted "GOD'S BREATH" years ago, I remember feeling like I was caught up in this powerful positive energy which I called The Breath of God but could as easily be translated into The State of Flow.  It was the realization that I was happy as an artist and could not fathom doing anything else with my life; and the vision that someday I would be able to do it full time.

That day arrived when I was able to call myself a full time artist.......a career artist........and now my vision is taking that leap into Greatness, following my vision with happiness.

I have made Fine art Prints of "God's Breath" to remind those of you that Finding Happiness and Vision is as easy as Being in a STATE OF FLOW, or being carried by THE BREATH OF GOD.

SPRINGING INTO ACTION....cleaning out those negative thoughts.

SONORAN SPRING
20" X 20"
ACRYLIC ON CANVAS
http://www.pameladunmirefineart.com
It has been a long winter in some parts of the country.  My home state Michigan seems to have been hit extremely hard, 96" of snow this year in my old neighborhood.   Here in Arizona we are just the opposite... we are having a draught, no snow in the mountains of Prescott this year.  I do miss at least a few storms passing through.....

Spring is definitely popping up, with flowers in the desert, and blooming trees all over, the high desert plateau.  It is such a lovely time of year and readies me for a new beginning.  I always anticipate spring housecleaning which is more than cleaning closets....... How about cleaning out your negative thoughts.

Living by intent helps me to find gratitude in everything......even the negative.  Without the negative how can you know the positive has come your way.  It is time to move forward...... align your thoughts with God, and produce positive energy.  The negative stuff, will only keep you stuck where you are.  Movement requires cleaning out those negative thoughts, and replacing them with positive imagery.....

Think about where you would like to be.... who you want to be......how you want to live your life.....

Take positive actions to prepare your self and step into your desires...... SPRING INTO ACTION!

The painting above is my spring time reminder that anything is possible even when you are in the desert.  The key is cleaning out those negative thoughts.

Now where is my broom?

HANGING ON ....with a little help from my friends

HANG ON
20"T X 16"W
ACRYLIC ON CANVAS
http://www.pameladunmirefineart.com
As the Beatles would say, "all you need is A Little Help From Your Friends"........  When things happen it is nice to have someone to hold on to.  That is the impetuous behind this whimsical painting.

When I was in the counseling field one of the first things I would ask someone in distress was, "Who are your support people?"  We all need a circle of family members or friends to come to our aide once in a while.

Some feel it is a sign of weakness to rely on others..... actually it is a sign of greatness!!!!

All great and successful people have networks of people to rely on, those that can do things better than they can. One does not reach the top alone, for the view would be fleeting if you could not share it.

Hot Air Balloons have become a symbol of sorts that remind me of the ups and downs of life, and how our journey to greatness can take many paths.  One minute you are up and soaring and the next you may be falling out of the balloon.......so reach for that friend.......and enjoy life together.

I am meeting a friend today who has become an anchor as I reach out for my BIGNESS.... she will be there if I begin to fall.... and I for her....... So we both can soar to GREATNESS....

HANGING ON is a good thing.

UP, UP AND AWAY....... Soaring higher than you ever thought possible.

UP, UP AND AWAY
16" X 16'
ACRYLIC ON CANVAS
http://www.pameladunmirefineart.com
This painting reminds me of soaring....... What a beautiful experience..... Can't you remember when you were really soaring in life?  That wonderful inner feeling that all was right with the world that you where on top, nothing could ever be better.  That soft glow of warmth, just like the heat in the hot air balloon, filling you with confidence, expanding you to your BIGGEST and BEST you could be.

That's what this painting is all about.  Our journey to greatness.  Every day I wake up knowing I am traveling that journey and that some days it will be an arduous trek and other days it will feel like a hop, skip and jump.  It all depends on my mind set.....whether I am letting those old lingering conditions get in the way or am I using my helpful confident experiences of life to lead the way.

This is what I explore in all my paintings...... LIFE....at it's BIGGEST and FULLEST.

With years of experience in Counseling Psychology, I helped many people travel through life finding their strength to soar, especially after times of trial or tribulation.  So it is only natural that I would paint the same way....... pulling up those deep feeling of strength, and accomplishment that sometimes we forget we have.....

The calming blues and greens, help us visualize those wonderful feelings of weightlessness that we feel when things are really going right.  Don't you feel like you could walk on air......happy, happy, happy!

The pops of orange and red give us those powerful feelings of energy;  that we could do anything right now and succeed........ BAM!

I hope the joy of this painting will help you soar higher than you ever thought possible!

STRETCHING FURTHER THAN EVER BEFORE......

STRETCHING
 36"T X 24"W
ACRYLIC ON CANVAS
http://www.pameladunmirefineart.com
This painting was created as I was stepping into my dreams and deciding I needed to be the BIGGEST and BEST artist I could...... It is definitely a stretch and like the floral above I was seeking the energy to grow out of my comfort zone and into something beautiful.

I think we all have moments of clarity when we seek our "WHY" in life, and know that it is time to shine.  That is where I am at this very moment, and where many of you are also.  I am stepping out of that familiar place that is easy, routine, and comforting....... Into the big wide world that is unfamiliar and scary, where people have not heard of me.  Seeking galleries outside of Prescott where people may be more critical, demand more from their art.  Gee whizzers......... it gives me goosebumps.

I AM expanding my horizons..... I AM working harder than ever before.......I AM painting (insert what ever you are doing) bigger and better....... I AM enlarging the space around me...... I AM stepping into my manifestation.  I AM who I always wanted to be.

I am sure many of you can resonate with these statements, or are trying to get to this place.

I AM stretching further than ever before...........

Man, this stretchhhhhing can be HARD, but I am sure it is part of the plan:)

EXPLORING COLOR.... and soaring!!!!!

OASIS
 30" X 30"
$1080.00
http://www.pameladunmirefineart.com
This is the newest addition to my Floral Series.... it is full of color.  I have been experimenting as of late, in color theory, continuously amping up the energy in my paintings.  It is part of my seeking my "Why".

As I continue to explore the depth of why I paint, and my clarity unfolds; my paintings become bolder and more joyous.  You can't deny they make an impact and many of my peeps are loving them.

Along with the new look in my craft, I designed a softer look to my website and blog, as not to compete with the brilliant colors of my paintings.  I hope you are liking all the changes.

As I step out of my comfort zone and push toward BIGNESS my work is reaching deep and pulling up all that is within.  I am bearing my soul and exploring the colors of my existence.  I am feeling the energy from all of you, and it has made me a better artist.

Help me reach my BIGNESS and SOAR with me, by introducing my art to your friends. Share my Face Book page and my website .   I will be giving away a lovely 10" x 10" fine art print of "Glowing on the Rio" to one of my followers as soon as I reach 250 likes on my FB page.

ON BEING WILD......

WILDNESS  40"T X 30"W
Yes indeed, I have gone WILD.........  This is the year, when I feel that everything is in line to shoot for the stars.  Taking very deep breaths.....digging deep within me and taking that leap.
Aligning myself with peeps that have the same visions. Not being afraid and stepping out of my comfort zone.  Spending the big bucks to move in the direction that is needed.  Yes indeed I have gone WILD.

As an artist we all face that question.  Is this serious....do I want to make it BIG, BIGGER, BIGGEST?

Several years ago I wrote a Mission Statement, I made a Vision Board and I rewrote my Bio and Artist's Statement.  I was ready to make my mark on the world.  But what I wasn't counting on was the fear factor, the self doubt the "am I good enough?"  Every imaginable thought that an artist goes through.... those "Conditions"  that we all put on our selves.... such as I didn't go to art school,  people don't buy abstract art, and it is hard to sell wall art, after all I am getting to old.... I have lost my energy.

Man had I self destructed or what?????

It took a wake up call.... CANCER...... to put me back on track to my dreams and desires.

Let's face it, for an artist there is nothing else but art.  We would die and wither away without it.  I not only desire but need to become the artist that is the BIGGEST I can get.  I stepped into my manifestation and have been working hard to reach my bigness.  Fantastic things are happening, wild and unimaginable things.

I am headed to the 2014 Licensing Expo, I am taking a workshop with the great Jeanne Bessette in November and doing a very special week long retreat that will bust me through my career ceiling.  My portfolio has jumped to the next level with new collections that are worth a look.  My workshops have been expanded and they are filling up fast.  My gallery hunt is full bore, and I had a very successful show in January.  I am selling art...... I am filling workshops......I am shipping art around the country.  I am gong WILD, and it feels joyous, delightful, magic.

Back to the easel....I need to paint.

WAITING FOR A GOOD HOME

MY OLD PUEBLO HOME
30" X 30"
$1,125.00
This painting which I completed in 2012 is one of my very favorites and I have selfishly been hording it's beauty, by hanging it in my home.

I have finally agreed to let it take flight and find a new family.  Sometimes it is really hard relinquishing one of your babies.........  So I am looking for a good  home, one that appreciates fine art and beautiful color.  Someone who likes contemporary style, with a flair for the Southwest..

Here is it's story.

There is something wonderful about those old adobe houses that you see all over the southwest.  But the most ancient of adobes are the pueblos that have been standing for hundreds of years in New Mexico.  One of my favorites is the Taos Pueblo standing beautifully against the Santo De Cristo Mountain.

The oldest pueblo still being lived in and documented in the Americas is Acoma Pueblo outside of Albuquerque.  Sky City as it is called still has inhabitants occupying the site for over 800 years.  Acoma tribal tradition states they have lived in the village for more than 2,000 years.

The sweet memories of these wonderful structures flooded my soul, and had me yearning to paint the feeling of togetherness, tradition and culture.  That is what I feel when I am reminded of these sacred places.

Contact me at pdunmire@cableone.net if you would love this extrordinary piece of beautiful acrylic art.  Shipping and Handling $300.00

ART IS SO MUCH MORE THAN ART.......

WHITE MESAS
I few years ago a lovely women walked into Mountain Artists Gallery and fell in love with this painting.  She took it home and found that special spot on her wall.  I had a new collector and new friend.  She and I began to sing together in the church choir and had an occasional outing...... and a slow and steady friendship developed.  She collected many wonderful and way more famous artists than I.... Rothko, Dali, Chagall and than there was little unknown me.

She liked my work every bit as much as those famous artists.

Her husband became very ill and had to move to a care facility and her finances became tight. No more art buying........  She would still love to look at art and attend art openings, and ask me how my art was selling.
LEAVING EDEN
Than one day this last October during the open studio tour this lovely lady stopped by.  She fell in love with another painting.  She decided even though things were tight she wanted to give herself an early Christmas present, so we worked out a deal and she bought the above piece.

I saw her a few days ago and asked her how she liked her painting, and she confessed that she had not hung it yet, it had become to difficult for her to do such things.  I offered to come over and hang the painting and have a cup of coffee.  You see this lovely lady lives in a retirement center, and doesn't get out as much as she would like.  Things that use to be easy have become difficult and her husband's care has put much stress into her life.

She offered me lunch, I didn't want to impose.....but she said........ "it isn't often that I can eat with someone".  So I stayed and we had tomato soup.  She told me how much she loved her tiny cozy apartment and all the beautiful wall art that she collected.  These paintings had become her friends.  They kept her company and brought beauty and joy into her life.  I was so honored that my art was there for her, bringing her joy and sending my love.

It gave me a new perspective on the possibilities that art can bring to a person.  Art not only is beautiful to look at but it heals the soul, warms the heart, and keeps a person from being lonely.  This lovely lady was content at home with all her artists and their work.

I feel so blessed to be an artist that brings joy to a shut-in or spurs a memory of something beautiful in ones life.  What could be a better occupation.
